The film which stars Kamal Haasan in the lead, is expected to bring back the brave Senapathy to life after nearly 2 decades. As earlier reported, the film will feature Kamal Haasan in a different look and the actor is working closely with a team of international trainers to shed weight for his role.

On the actor’s look for the film, director Shankar told India Today that he was astonished to see Kamal Haasan in character. He said, “We recently had a makeup test for Kamal Haasan’s role in Indian 2. All I can say is that he is on a roll. When we saw Kamal Haasan in the old man look, it gave me goosebumps. I was so excited and kept thinking how would the audience react after seeing one of their favourite characters on screen after 25 years. It was a great feeling.”

Reports say Kajal Aggarwal, who is currently shooting for Paris Paris — the Tamil remake of Queen — underwent a makeup test abroad. She plays the female lead in Indian 2. Earlier Nayanthara was likely to join the cast, but she could not allot bulk dates to project, and was subsequently replaced.

Meanwhile, a few reports suggest that Haasan might revive Sabash Naidu, a spin-off based on the character Balram Naidu from Dasavatharam.
