Director Karthik Thangavel, whose debut movie Adanga Maru starring Jayam Ravi is currently running in theatres, has put out a teaser with details about his next project. He made a formal announcement about the production house that’ll finance his new project – Prince Pictures.
Starring Jayam Ravi, Raashi Khanna and Sampath Raj, Adanga Maru released during Christmas and has been garnering appreciation from critics and audiences alike. Produced by Sujatha Vijaykumar under the banner Home Movie Makers, Adanga Maru is an action thriller featuring Ponvannan, Suresh Chandra Menon, Subbu Panchu and Babu Antony in supporting roles. Sam C S had composed music for the movie.
Karthik Thangavel, in a Cinema Express report, said that producer S Lakshman Kumar of Prince Pictures reached out to him after watching the teaser of Adanga Maru. “Impressed with the teaser of Adanga Maru, Lakshman sir told me several months back that he wanted to do his next film with me, come what may.”
Thangavel, who had three stories, discussed these with the producer. “I narrated three rough drafts, all of which were close to my heart. Lakshman sir left it to my choice, but I couldn’t decide which one to go ahead with.”

“Since he came to know that I was being approached by other production houses too, he wanted to make an announcement on New Year’s Day that my next film was going to be with his banner,” Thangavel said regarding the the date of the announcement.
While the stories he narrated to the producer were those of an action movie, thriller and an adventure drama, he is yet to pick one. “Truth be told, I am yet to come out of the Adanga Maru glow,” he said.
He said that a formal announcement regarding the cast and crew of the film could be expected once he chooses the story.
Prince Pictures is currently financing the upcoming Karthi starrer Dev directed by debutant Rajath Ravishankar.
