For the uninitiated, the trailer of Varmaa, Dhruv Vikram’s debut movie, comes across as a mystery. Save for a few lines, the trailer, sans any dialogues whatsoever, hints at the character arc of the protagonist by showing the actor in two different looks.
An unkempt look being one of them, the viewer can imagine the doctor protagonist to be nurturing a heartbreak. And this is about everything one can gather from the trailer. The remaining portions make up of a variety of scenes that are hard to piece together and designed to showcase the actor’s responses in different situations. Also adding to the mystery surrounding the protagonist are the various women he’s shown to be involved with.
Varmaa is a remake of the 2017 Telugu film Arjun Reddy. For the fans of the original, the trailer of Varmaa simply serves as a flashback but with a shorter, younger protagonist; a montage that probably shows the events that are earmarked ‘important.’ To sum things up, the trailer of Varmaa is what would come to Arjun Reddy’s mind if he decided to take a trip down his memory lane.
Directed by Sandeep Vanga, Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Devarakonda became a huge success upon its release. The director is currently directing Shahid Kapoor in the Hindi remake titled Kabir Singh.
