Gouthami, who makes a comeback in Papanasam alongside Kamal Haasan, revealed that she resumed work on her daughter Subbulakshmi’s suggestion. In an interview to The Hindu, Gouthami declared that she is impressed by the young filmmakers in the industry, and aspires to do more films.
In Papanasam, the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Drishyam, she stars opposite Kamal Haasan and plays an integral role. Calling Kamal Haasan a “team player”, Gouthami said she tends to give her best when she works with him. She also added that she hasn’t watched the original film yet, as she intends to lend her own touch to the role.
The actress returns after 19 years; she was last seen in Sasanam, which released in 2006.
