Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya Akinneni’s fourth film together, and their first one post-marriage, Majili will release on April 5. The latest poster shared by the actors confirmed the news.
Majili was announced by the actors just before New Year in 2018. Samantha Ruth Prabhu had posted on social media that the many phases in her life had brought her to this point, and that the upcoming year will be full of special films.

While the first poster showed the real-life couple, the second one features Naga Chaitanya and Divyansha Kaushik, the film’s other female lead.
The makers released the poster to coincide with Sankaranti. Set against the backdrop of a cricket stadium, Naga Chaitanya is seen with a bat in one hand and both arms raised while Kaushik is embracing him.

Majili has been directed by Shiva Nirvana, who made his directorial debut with Ninnukori. A spokesperson for the film told Silverscreen that Majili comes with huge expectations since it marks the coming together of Chaithanya and Samantha after their marriage in 2017.
“Majili is geared to be the perfect film for them to come back and act as a couple. It is a romance and it’s very magical. Majili will be a milestone, quite like their three films before this,” the spokesperson said.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya first starred together in Ye Maaya Chesave, the Telugu version of Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya.
Chaithanya had three film releases last year – Mahanati/Nadigaiyar Thilakam, Saavyasachi and Shailaja Reddy Alludu.
Samantha had five releases – Mahanati, Rangasthalam, Irumbu Thirai, Seema Raja and U Turn, the Tamil and Telugu remakes of the Kannada film of the same name. She produced these films in addition to acting as the lead.
