There is yet another interesting update from the team of Varmaa. Ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran has joined the new version of the film.
Mukesh R, the producer of the film, tweeted,
@dop007 @proyuvraaj @E4Emovies Happy to have Ravi K Chandran on board as our DOP for the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy Welcome back to Tamil Cinema after 7aum Arivu

Earlier, E4 Entertainments, the production banner confirmed that Girisayya, the assistant director of the original version Arjun Reddy will direct the new film. It is also officially announced that October-fame British Indian actress Banita Sandhu is the new heroine for the film. According to a news report, she is super excited to be a part of the film though she feels the language would be a barrier.
Meanwhile, for Ravi K Chandran, more than his comeback, there is an emotional connect with the film as his son Santhana Krishnan is the cinematographer of the Hindi remake KabirSingh.
On his Twitter, he wrote,
Not only For my dear friends #Kenny and @e4echennai but for young & super talented #DhruvVikram .. incidentally my son @dop_santha currently shooting #KabirSingh the Hindi remake of #ArjunReddy ..? https://t.co/SLVVdq2yuG

The Hindi remake features actor Shahid Kapoor and actress Kiara Advani, and made is by Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Vanga.
E4 Entertainment’s decision to re-shoot the entire Tamil film few days before its release created a wave in the film industry. While the producer released a press note stating that they weren’t happy with the final outcome, director Bala later said that the changes the producer had asked curbed his creative freedom and so he decided to quit.
Producer Mukesh R is very clear about the lead cast, and the film marks actor Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram’s debut. On Twitter, he responded to a question from a fan asking if the film was still Dhruv’s debut. He said, “Yes it’s certainly his debut film, this new version will hit screens as his first film.”
The shoot for the new version is expected to commence by March.
