Happy Birthday Internet. On March 12, 2019, the Internet celebrated its 30th birthday. That makes the Internet exactly seven years, to the date, younger than me. Therefore, in honour of perhaps the biggest communication technology the world has seen, is this special Song of The Day.
This song from director Kathir’s Kaadhalar Dinam was the anthem of young lovers through the early 2000s. Released in 1999, the film featured newcomer Kunal and Sonali Bendre, along with Goundamani, Nasser and others, and became a moderate hit, mainly due to the songs composed by AR Rahman.
An overall good album with two stand-out songs, Oh Maria Maria celebrated the Internet as a tool that brought lovers together, and allowed romance to flourish despite distance.
