Kalavani 2, the sequel to the 2010 film of the same name is expected to release in May. Shoot for the film, starring Oviya and Vimal in the lead, recently wrapped up.
Speaking to Silverscreen, Oviya’s official spokesperson said “The shooting of the film has wound up. The move is currently awaiting release.” When asked about the expected release date he said “Oviya’s Kanchana is slated to release in April. So Kalavani 2 should ideally release in May.”
In a press release put out earlier, the makers stated that the second instalment will have a fresh premise with a hard-hitting story. Oviya will also be seen in a role that will be a complete contrast to her role in the recently released 90ML. Apart from the leads, the supporting actors from the original movie, including Saranya Ponvannan, Ilavarasu and Ganja Karuppu will be seen sharing the screen space in the new film. Mayilsamy will be a new addition to the star-cast. Meanwhile, Durai Sudhakar will play the antagonist in the film. The makers claim his character to be “completely different and unique from routine villain characters.”
Vottu Kettu Vanthagale, a song from the movie, has become popular among the listeners.
