On Twitter, Kushboo said that she was travelling to Cuddalore to join the BJP’s Vetrivel Yatra when a tanker rammed into her car. She also posted pictures of her damaged vehicle.

Adding that the police are investigating the accident, she clarified that it was the container tanker that rammed into her vehicle and not the other way around.
Request the press to understand that a container rammed into me and not the other way. My car was on the move in the right lane and this container came from nowhere and rammed into me. Police are investigating n questioning the driver to rule out any foul play.

In another tweet, she thanked her well-wishers and informed them that she will continue her journey towards Cuddalore. “Nothing has stopped me before this, nothing will stop me now either,” she wrote in the tweet.
After the rally, she took to Twitter and wrote that she had no injury from the accident, apart from a pain in her left shoulder.
“I am back home safe. No injury except left shoulder pain, which banged against the door, an impact of the hit. Want to thank each n every one of you for sending me so many messages of good will,” she wrote.
BJP leader K Annamalai posted pictures from the Vetrivel Yatra and said Kushboo gave a “rousing speech” at the event.

Kushboo had recently resigned from the Congress, after a six-year-long stint with the party, and later joined the BJP at its headquarters in New Delhi on the same day.
The Tamil Nadu BJP wing is organising the Vetrivel Yatra despite the state government banning it in the wake of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The Yatra is a month-long rally that includes visiting six abodes of Lord Muruga. It began on November 6 at the Tiruttani temple, in northern Tamil Nadu, and will come to an end at the Tiruchendur temple on December 6, in the southern part of the state. The Yatra has been criticised by opposition parties in Tamil Nadu.
