Jacqueline Fernandez, who was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday, and again on Saturday, in connection with the money laundering case filed against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekar, failed to appear for interrogation on both days, ANI reported.
On Thursday, actor Nora Fatehi had arrived at the ED office for questioning in the same case, another ANI report stated.
The case is based on an FIR filed by Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) against Sukesh Chandrashekhar and his wife, actor Leena Maria Paul, who are accused of cheating and extorting the wife of a businessman. The couple is currently in custody with the ED.
Fernandez, who had previously appeared before the ED on August 30, but missed the summons on September 25, has been called to the ED office again on October 18. Reportedly, Fernandez was also duped by Chandrashekhar and has thus been summoned multiple times as a witness in this case.
Meanwhile, Fatehi was questioned for over eight hours on Thursday to establish connections with Chandrashekhar and his wife. She was earlier summoned by the agency last month in the same case.
Delhi Police had registered an FIR against Chandrasekhar for allegedly duping the spouses of former promoters of Ranbaxy, Shivinder Singh, and Malvinder Singh of Rs 200 crore. He also has several open investigations in other cases against him across the country.
Accused in as many as 21 cases, Chandrashekhar is said to have operated his extortion racket even when he was in Delhi’s Rohini jail.

According to a report in NDTV, searches were conducted by the ED at various places linked to Chandrashekar and his associates. During the search, 16 high-end vehicles were seized and these cars are either in the name of firms of Leena Paul’s or third parties.
Paul, who has acted in several Malayalam films, was also seen in John Abraham’s Madras Cafe.
