Actor Brahma Mishra, best known for playing Lalit in the web series Mirzapur, was found dead on Thursday afternoon at his rented residence on Yari Road in Mumbai’s Versova. He was 36.
According to Indian Express, the police said there appears to be no foul play and the actor has died a natural death due to a heart attack. His remains have been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem and his family members in Bhopal have been informed.
Mishra had been living alone for the past four years. The actor’s neighbours had alerted the cops after a stench was emanating from the house. The police then made a duplicate key and opened the door. They found the actor’s partially-decomposed body in the toilet. There were no injury marks on the body, the police noted.
After the news of Mishra’s death broke, several cast members from Mirzapur took to their social media accounts and paid tributes to the late actor.
Ali Fazal, who co-starred with Mishra on the web series, shared an emotional note of condolence. He wrote, “Hearts broken today, yet again. Brahma, take care saathi… RIP.”
Actor Divyenndu Sharma too mourned his co-star in a post, writing, “RIP Brahma Mishra. Our Lalit is no more. Let’s pray for him, everyone.” He also shared a selfie featuring Mishra with his post.
