Salman Khan, who was admitted to a hospital after getting bitten by a non-venomous snake at his farmhouse in Panvel on Sunday morning, was discharged after six hours, according to ANI.
“I was hospitalized for 6 hours…I am fine now,” said Khan, post his discharge.
To celebrate his 56th birthday on Monday, Khan had, over the weekend, visited his farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra with his family.
Addressing the media on late on Sunday, the actor recounted what happened at the farmhouse that is named after his sister, Arpita Khan Sharma. He mentioned that since the place is surrounded by forest lands, a snake came into one of the rooms, scaring the children present. “I got a small stick and picked up the snake with it, to release it outside, into the forest. While I was doing so, the snake climbed onto my hand and everybody around began shouting. That’s when it bit me the first time. As people’s uproar continued, I got bitten again,” Khan said. He added that he tried “with a lot of love” to remove the snake and gently release it. At this point, he was bitten a third time.
The actor was then admitted to MGM hospital in Kamothe, Maharashtra.
He also mentioned that villagers said it was a Kandhari snake but later, at the hospital, they came to know that it was a different snake.

“On returning from the hospital, we saw that the snake was still here, and we took it back to the jungle. I am doing fine now. I have taken an anti-venom for almost all snakes because we were not sure if it was a venomous snake or not, just by looking at it. After getting the shot, I was kept there for six hours for observation,” he added.
Thanking the hospital staff and doctors, Khan said, “My sister was quite scared, but I made friends with the snake and got a picture clicked with it. It must have also bit me because it was scared. It was good that this hospital was very quick. They were well-equipped and had an anti-venom for all kinds of snake bites. Our commissioner of police, Bipin Kumar sir, and our MLA Sandeep Naik both rushed to the hospital too, and it helped a lot.”
