Sameer Wankhede Extortion Case: NCB Vigilance Team Interrogates Witness Prabhakar Sail for 10+ Hours

A vigilance team of the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday interrogated witness Prabhakar Sail for more than 10 hours in connection with the extortion charges he made against Sameer Wankhede, the agency’s Mumbai unit zonal director, in the cruise ship drugs case involving the arrest of actor Shah Rukh Khan‘s son Aryan Khan.

NCB Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh had told the media that Sail appeared before the agency on Monday and his interrogation went on from 2 pm to 12:20 am and would continue the next morning.

Singh had earlier said, “I will not take names but all those who are needed will be called (for questioning).”

Sail is an independent witness in the cruise ship drugs case. He claims to be the personal bodyguard of Kiran Gosavi, the private investigator seen in the viral selfie with Aryan Khan at the NCB office.

Sail had alleged that Gosavi discussed monetary pay-offs to Wankhede in a telephone conversation on October 3. He said the conversation, which he overheard, was about a Rs 18 crore deal between Gosavi and one Sam D’Souza, of which Rs 8 crore was going to be paid to Wankhede.

Sail had also alleged that Pooja Dadlani, SRK’s manager, had met with Gosavi to discuss the pay-off.

Post this, a preliminary investigation was initiated by the Mumbai police, and Wankhede’s first statement was recorded at the NCB’s office in Delhi on October 28.

On Monday, Dadlani was summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Mumbai. However, she did not turn up, citing health reasons.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, a Pune Court extended Gosavi’s police custody by one more day. He was nabbed by Pune police on the grounds that someone had lodged an FIR against him at the Faraskhana police station in 2018 for allegedly committing fraud by promising the person a job in Malaysia and taking money for the same.
