Thomas Middleditch, the ‘Silicon Valley’ Actor, Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Thomas Middleditch, the actor-comedian and former actor of Silicon Valley, has been accused of sexual misconduct and groping two women at the now-closed Hollywood club Cloak & Dagger in October 2019. The allegations came to light on Sunday in a Los Angeles Times report that detailed incidents of sexual misconduct at the club.

Hannah Harding, a former member of the club, made the accusations against Middleditch.

According to the report, Harding told the Los Angeles Times that Middleditch had made “lewd sexual overtures toward her and her girlfriend”. She claimed that after she turned him down, he kept pursuing her, groping her in front of her friends and several employees, including the club’s operations manager, Kate Morgan. Harding was 21 at the time.

She also claimed that when she asked her bosses, co-founders Adam Bravin and Michael Patterson, to kick out Middleditch, they did not take it seriously. “I felt like they dismissed it,” she said. “I told Adam that he needed to listen, that this was not OK,” Harding told the Los Angeles Times.

The Los Angeles Times quoted a direct message on Instagram that Harding said she later received from Middleditch saying, “Hannah I had no idea my actions were that weird for you… I know you probably want to just put me on blast as a monster… I don’t expect you to want to be my friend or anything… I am so ashamed I made you uncomfortable.”

Harding said in the report that she saw the actor grope another woman at the club even after she had complained about him, which went ignored. “They cared more about famous people at their club than women’s safety,” she told the Los Angeles Times.

Responding to these claims, another Silicon Valley actor, Alice Wetturlund wrote on social media that she tried to warn people about Middleditch.

The Los Angeles Times report stated that 10 women, including four former employees of the club, told them that Bravin and Patterson ignored sexual misconduct among members at the club and at its festivals. While Bravin had previously worked as a DJ for former US president Barack Obama, Patterson is a Grammy-nominated music composer.

In an e-mail statement to the Los Angeles Times, Patterson said, “As far as I am aware, they reported every incident to us, and to my knowledge, we dealt with every single issue brought to our attention.”

The club was shut down in January.
