The basic problem with IK is that it fails to make any sort of emotional connect with the audience. And when the plot itself actually depends on the emotional turmoil of it’s protagonist this is definitely a dampener. For a film that involves racing, the film moves at a rather slow speed. The short running time turns into a saving grace for the film. When the promotions focused so much on the racing aspect it is that part of the film that the audience would be highly anticipating. But this is reserved for the last few minutes and even then what we are subjected to is hardly exciting. On the positive side the basic thread of the film is an interesting one and there are some genuine surprises that we might not anticipate. But the lead to those moments and the after effects are hardly interesting.
