Madras Movie Review – Tamilcinema24

Karthi has transformed himself into a complete north Chennai guy. His north Chennai dialect, body language, etc., is exemplary to say the least. Interestingly, the film’s heroine, Catherine Tresa, who has no connection to Chennai until the film happened, has also done a great job with facial expressions and dialogue delivery. The love portions between Karthi and Catherine Tresa is very natural indeed. The roles played by Karthi’s mom, grand mom, friend Anbu and his wife Mary have all lived their roles without any traces of over dramatics.

Recommended

While the first half is racy and funny, the second half lacks the tempo in some places. Though the climax is different and unique, we have a feeling that it could have been made better.

The second biggest plus for Madras is the camera work. The film brings out the north Madras feel right through. In the second half, the editing plays a pivotal role. Special praises to editor Praveen. Santosh Narayanan BGM score is awesome and the Kaagidha Kappal song is superb.
