Nedunchalai Movie Review – Galatta

Recommended

Director Krishna is back with a movie after nearly 8 years since his Sillunu Oru Kadhal. He states that he did not come up with the story of Nedunchalai in just a day. He has stated that his observation of the people living by the highways in areas between the rural and urban areas. The story, set across three different time zones has an 80’s and 90’s feel to it. The execution has been done well and the gripping screenplay stands testimony to the hard work put into the movie. Aari has transformed from a lover-boy to a ferocious rustic hardcore highway robber and all his dedication shows on screen. Shivada Nair does not look like a debutante… She impresses with her performance. Prashanth Narayanan and Salim Kumar excel in their roles. Sathya’s score for the songs needs a special mention. His BGM is very good too. The first half is excellent and the pace of the second half is also good. Nedunchalai will be a very good take-off pad for both Aari and Shivada Nair and a major break for director Krishna, following his maiden Sillunu Oru Kadhal.
