Food for thought
Director M Sasikumar’s associate and relative, Ashok Kumar, was found dead in his apartment in Chennai. In his suicide note, Kumar alleged that he had been harassed by a loan shark for a while, blaming film financier Madurai Anbuchezhian for the last seven years. Ashok Kumar, like many other producers, had opted to fund his venture by borrowing from a private financier. There is no denying that loan sharks employ harsh methods to recover the money but in most suicide cases, there is often an underlying mental health issue. In other instances, a personal setback irrespective of the intensity can be trigger. In a country where suicide rates are high, it’s time that mental health issues take precedence.

What to watch out for
Sai Dharam Tej’s Jawaan trailer is out. The film has Tej essaying the role of a patriot, with actress Mehreen Kaur Pirzada playing the female lead. Tamil actor Prasanna plays a negative role in the film.
Directed by BVS Ravi, Jawaan is being bankrolled by Arunachal Creations Banner. Presented by producer Dil Raju, the film has music by SS Thaman.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati is in the news for all the wrong reasons, however, when the song Ghoomar released, people could not stop raving about how graceful Deepika Padukone looked twirling in her full Rajput avatar. Deepika has reportedly delivered over 66 twirls for this video. While the producers figure out a release date for Padmavati, this freestyle version of ‘Ghoomar’ is worth checking out.
