Last week there were no major releases as a result some of the older movies continued their good run at the box office. Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru continued to do well in Chennai while among the Bollywood movies, Tumhari Sulu saw a steady rise.

New poster of Padman is out. The film is directed by R Balki and stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor. It is based on the life of entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented low-cost sanitary pad-making machine. The film is scheduled to release on January 26.

Offbeat
Argentinian filmmaker Pablo Cesar’s film Thinking of Him will close the 48th International Film Festival of India in Goa on November 28. The film explores the relationship that Rabindranath Tagore shared with Argentinean writer and activist Victoria Ocampo. The two had met during Tagore’s visit to Argentina in 1924.
