In a late night development, actor Vishal’s nomination for RK Nagar by-polls was rejected. The TFPC president had filed his nominations papers amid much fan-fare, however, it was rejected on the grounds that the names of the proposers were incorrect. He staged a dharna and later tweeted that his nomination has been accepted. After much drama, his nomination was officially rejected. The actor said that it was a sad day for democracy.

Meanwhile, adding his two nuggets on the Padmavati row, former chairperson of FTII Gajendra Chauhan said, “If I had been the producer, I would have contacted the royal family first with the script.” Wonder which royal family he was talking about.
