Ivan Thanthiran:
Ivan Thanthiran will be actor Gautham Karthik’s third release in 2017, after Muthuramalingam and Rangoon. He plays an engineering student in this one.
A two-minute clip of the movie, which features RJ Balaji delivering a monologue on the situation of engineering students in Tamil Nadu, has become quite popular on social media.
Actress Shraddha Srinath will be playing the female lead in the movie, which has been directed and produced by R Kannan.
S Thaman and Nivas K Prasanna have composed music while Prasanna Kumar has handled the cinematography.
Adhagappattathu Magajanangalay:
Adhagappattathu Magajanangalay will mark the acting debut of both its lead actors – Umapathy, son of actor Thambi Ramiah and Reshma Rathore.
The movie has been helmed by debutant director Inbasekhar, and is touted to be a comedy thriller. Speaking to The New Indian Express, the young actor said that he is “slowly trying to learn more about what he can and cannot do”.
The movie has been bankrolled by Siva Rameshkumar, under the banner Silverscreen Studios. P K Varma has handled cinematography while D Imman has composed music.
Ayaal Sassi:
Actor Sreenivasan will be playing the lead in Ayaal Sasi. The movie, directed by Sajin Babu, will see the actor in the titular role of Sasi.
The trailer of the movie hints at an artist who seeks attention. Sasi had played similar roles in movies like Udhaynanu Tharam and Chindavishtayaya Shyamala.
Ayaal Sassi has been bankrolled by Sudish Pillai and P Sukumar. It will also see Kochupreman, Anil Nedumangad, Sreekumar, Rajesh Sarma, Divya Gopinath in prominent roles.
Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum:
Director-actor Dileesh Pothan is back with his second directorial – Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. The lead actor from his Maheshinte Prathikaram, Fahadh Faasil, will be playing the protagonist in this one as well.
According to an IBT report, the director said that it was more like a family drama. “When I heard the story of Maheshinte Prathikaram, I felt it was interesting and made it into a film. Similarly, when I heard this story, I thought it should be made into a film. It is a small movie of a middle class family made on a small canvas. It’s a story related to the law and order of the society.”
The movie will see Suraj Venjarumoodu, Soubin Shahir, Alencier Ley, and Nimisha Sajayan in pivotal roles. Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum has been bankrolled by Urvashi Theaters, and has music by Bijibal.
