Actor Aari and BiggBoss fame Aishwarya Dutta have signed up for a new film titled Aleka, with director SS Rajamithran of Ayyanar fame. The crew is currently shooting in a single schedule in Chennai. A few songs are being planned abroad.
Aari tells Silverscreen that the film’s theme is love, and it is about how relationships used to be and how they are now. “It’s a commercial film that explores the psychology, contemporary reality of two people’s problems in their relationship. In the 1960s, religion was a problem for love, in the 80, caste was a problem, in 2000s, status was given importance. But now the major problem that love faces is love itself.”
Aari and Aishwarya work in the IT sector. Aari comes to the city from his hometown, while Aishwarya is a city girl, he says. “Even though it is set in the corporate world, the film will cater to all generations. It will be relatable to people in marriages, those who are in love and want to settle down… it will touch upon all their lives.”
Shoot for the film began in December. About 40 per cent is complete. The makers are planning to release the first-look in February, and the film this summer. The film is co-produced by B Dharmaraj of Glow Star Creations and ER Anandan of Creative Teamz. Music is by AG Mahesh, with lyrics by Yugabharathi.

Aishwarya Dutta is currently working on Kettavanu Per Edutha Nallavanda. She was last seen in the thriller Marainthirunthu Paarkum Marmam Enna, written and directed by R Rahesh. She was the main lead in the film, with Dhruva and Saranya Ponvannan in important roles.
