Action Will Be Taken Against The Sale Of Tickets In Black, Says Rajini Makkal Mandram

Rajinikanth At The 2.0 Trailer Launch

As the Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0 gears up for release on November 29, Rajini Makkal Mandram issued a statement recently saying that strict action will be taken against anyone selling tickets illegally.

The letter signed by VM Sudhakar, head of All India Rajini Fans-Makkal Mandram, made two points: tickets reserved for members of Rasigar Mandram should not be sold to others, and the members must not be charged anything extra on these tickets by theatres.

First-day tickets for Rajini’s movies are almost impossible to score. But this time, 2.0 tickets might not be sold at exorbitant rates, higher than the prices fixed by Tamil Nadu government. Although it is still unclear as to how Rajini Makkal Mandram is going to implement this on ground, the move is an effort to curb tickets bought in advance and later sold in black by fan clubs.

Director Shankar’s 2.0, is a sequel of Enthiran which released in 2010 and earned over Rs 290 crore worldwide. It starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in leading roles, and was about a scientist, Dr Vaseegaran, who invents a clone like robot, Chitti.

Going by its trailers and teasers, 2.0 too, is a science-fiction film, with Rajini reprising the double-role of Dr Vaseegaran and the robot Chitti from Enthiran. The film stars Akshay Kumar as a BirdMan villain, and Amy Jackson playing a ‘performance-oriented’ role as the female lead.
