The film will mark the maiden collaboration of the actor-director duo.
Speaking to Silverscreen India, producer Ravi Shankar said, “NBK 107 will be an action entertainer. It is not a period drama, but an out-and-out commercial entertainer. The film will go on floors probably by August or September. We are planning to shoot in Hyderabad and there will be a few foreign location schedules for song shootings.”
The producer mentioned that the rest of the cast members will be announced within a month, adding that well-known faces from all the film industries are expected to join NBK 107.
According to the makers, the story is based on true incidents. Requesting anonymity, a source told Silverscreen India, “The director’s previous film, Krack, is also based on multiple true incidents. In the same way, the director is taking a source from the period of the 1980s and 90s and events that occurred in both Telugu-speaking states, for the film. Gopichand had written the script keeping Krishna in mind and had narrated first to the production house and then to Krishna about five months back.”
The source said that once the actor finishes his ongoing film, Akhanda, which has completed about 80% of the shooting, he will join the shooting for NBK 107. Adding that the film will be not a pan-Indian one, the source said, “It is also expected that, though Krishna will not be playing a dual role, he will be seen in two shades. One is a cop’s role and the other in the flashback, a person based in Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh.”
