Video jockey turned actor Rio Raj has signed up for his next film with Baana Kaathadi fame director Badri Venkatesh. The untitled project will be the maiden production of Rajesh Kumar and L Sinthan’s Positive Print Studios. Actress Ramya Nambessan has been roped in to play the female lead.

The film will see composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and Badri Venkatesh associating for the third time after Baana Kaathadi and Semma Botha Aagathey. The cast includes MS Bhaskar, Aadukalam Naren, Bala Saravanan, Santhana Bharathi, Robo Shankar, Munishkanth, Livingston, Viji, and Rekha. B Rajashekar will be cranking the camera, Sam RDX will edit, RK on the dialogues, Saravanan will be the art director and Stunner Sam will choreograph the action sequences. The film will be shot in both South and North India.

“The story written by AC Karunamoorthy and Badri Venkatesh’s narration was very relevant to the kind of package we were looking for. In addition, Rio Raj has become an overnight entertainer of crowds, where his full-fledged hero avatar in Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu… was appreciated by audiences. Although this movie will be an entertainer, it has a unique plot that will keep audiences engaged thoroughly,” said Producer Rajesh Kumar. L Sinthan added, “We are kick-starting the shoot from October 17th. The film’s female lead has a substantial character and we had to go through lots of choices. Finally, we felt that Ramya Nambeesan would do complete justice bringing depth to her role. More than everything else, we are excited about having Yuvan Shankar Raja sir compose music for our film.”
Meanwhile, Rio Raj who was the host of Vijay TV’s Ready Steady Po along with VJ Andrews for both its seasons recently hosted the We Are The Boys show which featured Bigg Boss Season 3 contestants, Sandy master, Mugen Rao (title winner), Tharshan Shant and Kavin. Ramya Nambessan, who was last seen in Shiva Aravind’s Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma alongside Bigg Boss fame Kavin, will next be seen in Dharani Dharan’s Ranger alongside Sibiraj and Babu Yogeswaran’s Thamilarasan alongside Vijay Antony. The actress is also a judge in the reality singing show Sun Singer.
