Actress Gayatri Sai Says She’s Waiting For Swamy To Prove His Accusations Against Her

Actress Gayatri Sai, who has been accused of killing her husband by a senior journalist from Chennai, said in a conversation with Silverscreen that she is waiting for the journalist to prove his claims. “Let him show proof. I’m waiting for him to furnish a detailed report as he’d promised. He said that he has completed 80 percent of the report. I have the death certificate of my husband; he died of a heart attack,” she said, adding that she doesn’t want any monetary compensation from him and only wants him to apologise to her. “I want him to assure me that he will never disturb me and my family again. Why would I demand Rs 5 crores when I know he doesn’t even have Rs 5 in his pocket?”

Gayathri further added that after going to the media, and lodging a complaint with the police, she hasn’t heard from him.

The actress, in late September, posted a series of posts on her Facebook account accusing Prakash M Swamy of harassing her over the past two years. Gayatri, wife of MR Sainath, a prominent banker, and a mother of two alleged that Swamy had physically abused her on the pretext of helping her with her son’s passport, and had also sent her dirty WhatsApp messages.

During her eight-minute live video on Facebook, she said that Prakash had threatened to expose her to the world as her husband’s killer.

She also alleged that the police were unhelpful, as her complaint with the cyber crime division wasn’t “taken seriously”.

Earlier, Gayathri published a screenshot of Swamy’s Facebook post in which he’d called her the ‘new Sri Reddy’. “What was all that about? He’s defaming me,” she declared.

Swamy, in a statement to International Business Times, said: “All I can say is that this is an attempt to thwart a media person from doing his job and I shall come out with my investigative report soon to expose the culprit whoever it may be. In this connection, a Tamil weekly recently wrote that she may have killed her husband in Hong Kong and run away to Chennai with insurance claims worth ten crore. I strongly deny all her allegations as frustrated and malicious outbursts.”
