Actress Monica has converted to Islam. The Silandhi actress revealed this at an impromptu press meet today and urged everybody to address her from now onwards as ‘MG Raheema’. Dressed in a long black Abaya, the actress said, “I converted to Islam back in 2010 but I’m revealing it only now. I did not do this lightly, for money or love. I converted because I really like the principles and ideologies of the Quran.” The actress has also decided to quit acting. “I have acted in over seventy movies as a child star and I have saved some money. I enjoy the support and popularity of my fans. This is enough for me!”
She is planning to get married soon and will reveal those details soon. “My parents are taking care of it all now. My father, Maruthiraj, is a Hindu and my mother Gracie is a Christian and now, I’m a Muslim. We’re a truly Gandhian family!”
