It’s been a spate of announcements from the Tughlaq Durbar team. Today, it was revealed that Aditi Rao Hydari, last seen in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam in Tamil and Antariksham 9000 Km in Telugu, has been roped in as the female lead. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi and actor-director Radhakrishnan Parthiban. It was also announced that Balaji Tharaneetharan, who last directed Vijay Sethupathi in Seethakaathi, will write the dialogues and that director Prem Kumar, who gave the actor a huge hit in 96, will come on board as cinemtographer. Incidentally, Balaji’s debut, Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, one of the films that marked Vijay Sethupathi’s ascent to stardom, was based on an incident that took place in Prem’s life.

The political satire bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio and Viacom 18 Studios, is to be directed by newcomer Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan. Music is to be composed by Govind Vasantha, who gave Vijay Sethupathi an album for the ages in 96. Tughlaq Durbar was announced in February 2019.
Aditi, who made her Tamil debut in 2004 with Sarada Ramanathan’s much-feted Sringaram, where she portrayed a temple dancer, has made her mark across three industries — Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, besides acting in one Malayalam film, Prajapathi, co-starring Mammootty. In Hindi, she was last seen in Daas Dev.
Vijay Sethupathi is said to have completed shooting for action entertainer Sanga Tamizhan, his film with Sketch director Vijay Chandar, co-starring Nivetha Pethuraj and Raashi Khanna. Vijay Sethupathi plays dual roles in Sanga Tamizhan, and the film also stars Soori and Nassar. The latest film announced with him is the Muttiah Muralitharan biopic.
