Jiivi will show Vetri in yet another unconventional role. The actor, who made his debut in last year’s critically acclaimed 8 Thottakkal, says that Jiiivi will be a thriller as well.
“There’s a lot of expectation on me since my debut film had amazing reach. The onus is on me to try and keep the momentum going by choosing more such scripts. Jiivi’s story came at the right time, and I really liked the way the director (debutant VJ Gopinath) narrated it to me,” he said.
Vetri says that it is important for him to remain silent about the plot details. “Even the slightest information can unravel everything. The plot is racy, and it will definitely keep everybody sitting on the edge of their seats,” he added.
All the actor chooses to reveal is that the film will be a mix of science and mysticism. “These are completely different concepts, but they are also two sides of the same coin. Jiivi will deal with a curious similarity that exists along with the many differences.”
Vetri has a lot of projects coming his way and will announce them shortly. “I have been getting very similar scripts these days. So I will make a decision soon,” he added.

The filming was wrapped up earlier this week and this has definitely made the producer of the project, M Vella Pandian, very happy. Through a press release, the producer said:
“All praise goes to director V.J. Gopinath. Despite being a first timer, his perfect planning skills and his ability to follow through has really made us all happy. A debut filmmaker might impress producers with unconventional storylines and engrossing narration, but the hard part is to maintain discipline and stick to the deadlines. Fortunately, Gopinath did both.”
The film is currently in post-production. A release date will be announced soon.
