Actor Jayam Ravi unveiled the first-look poster of his 28th film, Agilan, on Saturday. It is produced under the Screen Scene banner, whose Head of Distribution reveals that the upcoming film is nearing completion.
Agilan is written and directed by filmmaker N Kalyanakrishnan, who previously collaborated with the actor on Bhooloham (2015).
Priya Bhavani Shankar and Tanya Ravichandran are playing the female leads in Agilan, and the cast also includes actors Harish Uthaman and Madhusudhan Rao.
Speaking to Silverscreen India, Kiran Kumar S, Screen Scene’s Head of Distribution, says, “Agilan is a commercial action film that is set amidst a harbour. A large portion of the film will revolve around the harbour, containers, and ships. It is one of the biggest films in Jayam Ravi’s career in terms of budget and the actor will be seen portraying the role of a person working at the harbour.”
The film has been shot at the Thoothukudi port, with some parts also filmed in Kasimedu, Chennai. The cinematography has been handled by Vivek Anand.
According to Kiran Kumar, the film went on floors in November 2021 and about 80% of the shooting has been completed. The third schedule is set to commence by the end of February and the team is planning for a theatrical release in the summer.
Sam CS is composing music for Agilan, which has art direction by Vijay Murugan.
Kiran Kumar reveals that Screen Scene will be collaborating with Jayam Ravi on two more projects, apart from this film. “We will be announcing them shortly,” he adds.

Meanwhile, the banner is also gearing up for the release of two other productions, Saani Kaayidham and Idiot. Both films have been wrapped up. While Idiot stars Shiva and Nikki Galrani, Saani Kaayidham stars Keerthy Suresh and filmmaker Selvaraghavan.
On the other hand, Jayam Ravi, who was last seen in Bhoomi (2021), is also part of filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s upcoming big-budget historical drama Ponniyin Selvan.
