Ajith Kumar’s Ner Konda Paarvai may be different from the original Hindi film Pink. The makers are reportedly planning some changes to the script, for the Tamil audience to connect better to the film. This news has not been confirmed by the team yet.
In February, it was reported that the film might by delayed with its release date pushed to August 15. Only 30 percent of the shoot, which began last month, has been completed. The film was initially planned for release on May 1, the actor’s birthday. But the team does not want to shoot in a hurry.
Ner Konda Paarvai is currently being made in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film city. The movie is directed by H Vinoth of Sathuranga Vettai fame, and produced by Boney Kapoor under his home banner Bayview Projects LLP.
The film stars Ajith, Vidya Balan, Shraddha Srinath, Andrea Tariang and Abirami Venkatachalam. Adhik Ravichandran reportedly plays one of the antagonists. Rangaraj Pandey might reprise Piyush Mishra, the advocate who fought the case against Amitabh Bachchan in the original movie.

Talking about the cast, producer Boney Kapoor said in a press statement, “It’s nice to introduce Vidya Balan to the Tamil audience. She is paired with Ajith Kumar and her role is a very special. Shraddha Srinath has been displaying plenty of promise and we are casting her in the pivotal role. Rangaraj Pandey plays a very important character too.”
Arjun Chidambaram, Aswin Rao and Sujith Shankar also star in the film. Music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography is by Nirav Shah, and editing is by Gokul Chandran.
Shraddha Srinath recently tweeted that the film’s title was inspired by a poem written by Bharathiyar. Ner Konda Paarvai was an apt title for their film, she said.
I learnt just now from a friend that 'Ner Konda Paarvai' comes from a poem written by mahakavi Bharathiyar and that the poem talks about a 'Pudhumai pen/modern woman'. There couldn't have been a better title for our movie.
