Ajith’s Role In ‘Vivegam’ Will Inspire Curiosity, Says Director Siva

Ajith Kumar plays ‘AK’ in Vivegam. In a Vikatan interview, the film’s director Siva said:

“I always try to approach my films with Ajith sir as his fan. I wanted to see him wear a veshti and that happened in Veeram. I wanted to see him as an international agent, and that’s the look we went for with Vivegam. Most of the audience will want to know if Ajith sir plays a spy or assassin in the film. The script is built up in such a way that this suspense is carried on till the very end. It will inspire a lot of curiosity.”

A large portion of the film was shot abroad. “It was a conscious decision to stage the film abroad. The look and feel gives it an international vibe. It is Ajith sir as you’ve never seen him before.”

Filming in harsh weather conditions meant that Siva took over 150 days to complete Vivegam. “Usually, I finish a film in 110 days. But, we shot daily from 9:30 till 3 in the afternoon. Some days, we’d be forced to cancel as the climate wouldn’t be amenable. This isn’t a love subject. It is a film that requires huge action set pieces, people and emotional connect. So we had to make a lot of allowances for it. But, all troubles vanished when we saw the final picture and the look of the film.”

Vivegam is currently in post-production. The film has Ajith Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Vivek Oberoi and Akshara Haasan in lead roles. Anirudh composes music.
