Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni’s debut film Akhil:The Power Of Jua will be simultaneously releasing in Tamil on the 21st of October. The decision to dub the film in Tamil comes on the heels of the success of two recent Telugu films, Baahubali and Srimanthudu. Baahubali was released as a bilingual, and did extremely well in Tamil Nadu, second only to Shankar‘s I. Srimanthudu was released in Tamil as Selvandhan and had moderate success.

Recently, dubbed versions of last year’s Yevadu and Govindhudu Andharivadele were also released in Tamil Nadu. Given Nagarjuna’s popularity among Tamil audiences, his son’s debut film is expected to do well in Tamil Nadu.
Akhil is a fantasy action film directed by VV Vinayak, and stars Akhil Akkineni and Sayyeshaa Saigal. The distribution rights of the film were sold at a record-breaking price for a film starring debutants.
