Speaking to Silverscreen, the director of the movie B. Unnikrishnan said, “Viacom (the production company) is considering remaking the movie and discussions are in the initial stages.” They have also been talking to Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan for the protagonist’s part.

Kodathisamaksham Balan… had Dileep play yet another disabled character – a lawyer with a stammer, but the movie was a first of its kind for its director B. Unnikrishnan who ventured into comedy. The director also wrote the scrip for the film.

Dileep previously played the role of a lawyer in Ranjith Shankar’s Passenger. Likewise, Akshay Kumar has also starred as a lawyer in Jolly LLB 2.

Kodathisamaksham featured Priya Anand and Mamta Mohandas in the female lead. The supporting cast included Saiju Kurup, Siddique, Aju Varghese, Suraj Venjaaramoodu, Bindu Panicker, Renji Panicker, Lena, Sajid Yahiya and Bheeman Raghu.

Following Dileep’s arrest in the actress assault case, and his subsequent release from jail, director B. Unnikrishnan’s decision to work with him was criticised. Members of Women In Cinema Collective (WCC) opposed this. A member, Parvathy Thiruvoth, said that many including Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar had refused to work with directors after allegations of sexual assault were levelled against them.

The director justified this by saying, “This film with Dileep is not a new announcement. It was committed long back – in 2013 while I was directing Mohanlal-starrer Mr Fraud. But later, Dileep couldn’t schedule his dates for the project and then I narrated the script to Mohanlal after making some changes. But Mohanlal said it was a script tailor-made for Dileep and that it would be better if I worked on it with him itself.”
