Pooja Entertainment announced Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, on the metaverse on Tuesday, after it became the first Indian production house to bag a spot in the virtual universe.
Named Poojaverse, the virtual space offers a platform for makers to create immersive experiences for their viewers, starting with the upcoming film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
The metaverse an online platform where users can play games and interact with others as avatars in a computer-generated environment.
Apart from Pooja Entertainment, several celebrities like Paris Hilton and Snoop Dogg have also bought virtual space in the metaverse.
Producer Deepshikha Deshmukh of Pooja Entertainment said in a press release, “Metaverse is the new face of the internet. It’s a new way to connect and engage with our audiences and fans. People have ended up spending so much time online, be it for professional, educational or entertainment purposes. An increased usage of the internet has also seen a simultaneous growth in blockchain technology. Metaverse is building a future for virtual hangouts and is going to be the new way of consuming content.”
The producer added, “I am super stoked to have our biggest and most ambitious project – Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in the metaverse. With time and a more nuanced understanding of this virtual space, we intend to make Poojaverse the absolute go-to space for quality entertainment and various aspects of filmmaking in the digital world.”

Producer Jackky Bhagnani, commenting on how Bade Miyan Chote Miyan fits into Poojaverse, said, “I believe that digital domination was always considered as something of the future but things have changed with the pandemic. [Digital replication of real life] is no longer a futuristic idea. We are really excited to announce a foray into our very own virtual space Poojaverse, and our next big film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the first-ever film from India to showcase its announcement on the metaverse.”
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The film’s teaser was unveiled last week. The Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer will hit theatres in Christmas 2023 in five languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
