Alia Bhatt, the Indian actor, will make her international debut with the upcoming Netflix film Heart of Stone alongside Gal Gadot, best known for Wonder Woman, and Jamie Dornan, who starred in Fifty Shades of Grey.
The streaming giant took to social media on Tuesday to announce that Bhatt is joining the upcoming international spy thriller. “Exciting News: Alia Bhatt will star alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in their new movie Heart of Stone,” wrote Netflix.
Gadot had earlier shared pictures from the film’s sets on Instagram and written, “Rachel Stone. Nice to meet you,” suggesting that her character is called Rachel Stone.
The plot details of Heart of Stone are still under wraps.
As per a Deadline report, the project is directed by Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders, Wild Rose, The Aeronauts, War and Peace) from a script by Greg Rucka (The Old Guard) and Allison Schroeder, who earned an Oscar nomination for co-writing Hidden Figures.
Heart of Stone is produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger along with Gadot and Jaron Varsano of Pilot Wave, and Mockingbird’s Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn. Harper, Rucka and Patty Whitcher are on board as the executive producers for the film.
Meanwhile, Bhatt has recently been in the headlines following the remarkable success of her latest Hindi film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film has already become one of the biggest earners for Bollywood in the pandemic era, after Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi.

Other films in the pipeline for Bhatt include Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor and her upcoming Telugu debut RRR.
