Actor STR, who has been struggling to release the Vijay Chander–directed Vaalu, confirmed yesterday that the court cases against the movie’s release have been amicably resolved, and that he would soon announce a release date for the film. According to sources, Vaalu will most likely release on August 14, alongside director Rajesh’s Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga.

Earlier, distribution firm Magic Rays had filed a case against the movie, only to retract it later. There were also reportedly six other cases pending against the movie. Recently, STR’s friend actor Vijay had intervened to help STR and his father T Rajendar make the release possible.
Vaalu features STR, Hansika, and Santhanam in the lead. Produced by NIC Arts, Vaalu has music scored by S Thaman.
