Contrary to the earlier reports, a source close to the ace director Mani Ratnam told IANS that the director wasn’t hosiptalised due to cardiac arrest.
“The director visited the hospital for getting his general master check up done”, the IANS report quoted Mala Manyan, executive producer of Mani Ratnam’s latest release OK Kanmani. Since, Mani Ratnam wanted to stay away from the media fuss, he had got himself checked in Delhi.

Another source stated that the check-up was done when Mani Ratnam complained of a discomfort and added that Mani Ratnam and his wife actress-director Suhasini would be reaching Chennai on Thursday.
Also, a recent picture of Mani Ratnam, along with Suhasini and their friend Venu Rajamony, which indicates that the director is hale and healthy, is being shared widely on social media
The director’s last film Oh Kadhal Kanmani which has Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menen in the lead roles, is a huge hit at the box office.
