The recently launched OTT/SVOD service ALT Balaji (for content producer Balaji Telefilms Ltd (BTL)), and noted actor/producer Kutty Padmini are all set to collaborate for a new web series. Titled Mayathirai, it will be a horror series with 16 episodes.
Directed by Kaushik Narasimhan, the show will have actors Nandita Durairaj, Eden Kuriakose, and Lakshmipriya. The series will revolve around Sandhya, a woman who has frequent encounters with supernatural elements.
“Alt Balaji is spearheading a revolution in entertainment industry. They’re offering quality entertainment for the internet age, something other producers haven’t yet latched on to,” said Kutty Padmini in a statement.

The app showcases various series including the Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanvar starrer Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat and the Nimrat Kaur drama series The Test Case. Alt Balaji aims at showcasing original, exclusive and never seen before content, tapping into the digital medium market.
