A 40-year-old Chennai-based businessman has been arrested in connection with a complaint filed by actress Amala Paul. The actress, who lodged a complaint with the T Nagar police on Wednesday, said that a man had made sexual advances towards her while she was practising for a dance programmme to be held in Malaysia.
“He was unpleasant, and spoke as if he was engaged in some trade, and wanted sexual favours. I was shocked and humiliated,” she said, “I was alone then and I suspect insider involvement as he knew I would be there at that time. I felt extremely unsafe; I am an independent working woman and I didn’t want to let this go.”
