Amala Paul is set to make her Bollywood debut in Naresh Malhotra’s upcoming venture. The movie that goes on floors in Octobe also has Arjun Rampal in the lead role.
“I’ve been getting Bollywood offers for a while now, but I was waiting to choose the right project. Once I was almost finalized for the role of a Punjabi girl. But I wasn’t sure of getting the accent right,” said Amala Paul in a ToI article.
According to Amala Paul, it was director Naresh Malhotra’s confidence that made her take up the project. “When Naresh’s project came by, I was kicked. He had seen some of my work in Tamil and approached me for the project. He was sure that I could pull it off,” she added.
In fact, she did not even have to audition for the part. “This role is tailor-made for me.” She feels that this was the right time for her to make her Bollywood debut. “I am glad to be making my Bollywood debut now when I finally have the maturity and confidence to pull it off.”
Apart from the story being a thriller, it was also the fact that the movie was going to be shot in the Himalayas that excited her.

About her co-star Arjun Rampal, she says “I met Arjun during one of the discussions. It was more of a friendly meet where we discussed how good my Hindi is. Since I lived in Delhi for quite a while, my Hindi is pretty good.”
Amala is currently shooting alongside Prithviraj for the Malayalam movie Aadujeevitham, based on the novel of the same name. She also has a Tamil film titled Ratchasan with Vishnu Vishal that is gearing up for release. She is currently shooting for the Tamil movie Adho Andha Paravai Pola directed by debutant Vinoth KR
