The Dhanush-starrer Anegan is in a legal mess. A group of dhobiwallahs have filed a case at the Madurai High Court alleging that the movie hurts their sentiments. According to their lawsuit, the group has claimed that certain dialogues in the movie are ‘extremely offensive’ to people from their background. They have requested the legal system to ‘punish everyone involved’, and to ‘ban the release of the movie’.
A spokesperson for the movie chose not to comment on the issue.
