Director Anurag Kashyap is presenting the Hindi remake of Taapsee Pannu’s Tamil-Telugu bilingual Game Over, along with YNot Studios and Reliance Entertainment.
The film is a thriller which unfolds inside a house. It is directed by Ashwin Saravanan, who made his debut with the Nayanthara-starrer Maya in 2015, and his second film Iravaakaalam, starring SJ Suryah, is also gearing up for release. Game Over began shoot in October last year, when a first-look poster was released. The film wrapped by December 2018.

The film marks Taapsee Pannu’s return to Tamil cinema, three years after Kanchana 2. She also acted in Aadukalam and Vandhaan Vendraan. She took to Twitter to share the news, and said that she was lucky to have her film release in three languages simultaneously, “For whatever little trust I have built in my audience for my choice of films, I am very confident that I will strengthen the belief further with Game Over.”
So lucky to be an actor in times where a film can witness simultaneous release in 3 languages. To all the wonderful names coming together to make it happen ??????????
Proud to be a part of #GameOver

In the press statement, Anurag Kashyap also said he was kicked to be a part of this project and praised Ashwin Saravanan for pushing boundaries. “This film proves yet again that the quality of filmmaking from the south is just outstanding and it’s great to see how Ashwin Saravanan has pushed boundaries and has made a genre-bending film, something that we all have never seen before,” he said.
Game Over is written by Ashwin Saravanan and Kaavya Ramkumar, and stars Vinodhini Vaidyanathan and Anish Kuruvilla in important roles. Music is by Ron Ethan Yohann, who worked with the director on Maya. Cinematography is by A Vasanth and editing by Richard Kevin. The film will be out in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu simultaneously, and a release date is expected soon.
Meanwhile, Taapsee recently wrapped up shooting for Saand Ki Aankh, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar. The film is about India’s oldest sharpshooters, and is directed by writer Tushar Hiranandani, and jointly-produced by Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar. Taapsee also has the multi-starrer Mission Mangal in the pipeline.
