AR Murugadoss Opens Up About Hospitalisation

Director AR Murugadoss was hospitalised last week after he fainted on the sets of Kaththi. He was immediately rushed to the hospital by actor Vijay. “We were working hard to release Kaththi on Deepavali. I think I exerted myself a lot to meet the deadline. I was handling dubbing, CG and a lot of other post-production activities, when I collapsed. It was too much to handle,” said Murugadoss.

When he gained back consciousness, doctors asked him if he could recognise Vijay. “As soon as I opened my eyes, I could see Vijay sir standing next to my bed. The doctors showed Vijay sir and asked me if I could recognise him. I laughed. I told doctors if I can’t say who Vijay sir is, even my son will hit me,” Murugadoss said, and added that riding in an ambulance shook him emotionally. “I am very grateful to Vijay sir for giving me much-needed emotional support.”

Kaththi is AR Murugadoss’s second film with actor Vijay. The duo first worked together in Thuppakki. He revealed that Vijay plays dual roles, Jeevanandham and Kathiresan, in Kaththi. “I’m sure that audiences will fall in love with Kathiresan. They will find him more charming than Thuppakki’s  Jagdish.”
