AR Rahman will make his TV debut with the serial Everest. The Oscar winner has signed on to compose the background score for the short series, which is produced by Lagaan director Ashutosh Gowariker.

The composer was quite taken in with the theme of the series, which revolves around a girl’s quest to scale Mount Everest, in order to gain her father’s acceptance. Rahman has already scored the title track for the show, and is also planning to feature the work of his students (from KM Conservatory of Music) in the track.
According to his manager, he feels that this would be a perfect opportunity to showcase the talent of his students, and would also be a learning experience for himself.
Apart from Everest, ARR is also busy working on the Pele biopic and the untitled Majid Majidi film.
