Congress politician V Hanumantha Rao recently picked a bone with actor Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy. The politician took a dig at IT minister KT Rama Rao after the latter called the film “gutsy and bold”. Rao alleged that KTR had praised Deverakonda only because he was a relative.
Responding to these allegations, Vijay Devarakonda took to Facebook and wrote that some people are on their feet working and taking cinema forward, while “some of us are stuck in thodagottatam“.
He further said – with tongue firmly in cheek – that if KTR was related to him, then the others who praised him should also be related to him in some way – SS Rajamouli would be his father, Rana Daggubati, Nani, and Varun Tej are his brothers, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu is his sister.

Apart from alleging that KTR was Deverakonda’s relative, Hanumantha Rao also stated that Arjun Reddy is a film that encourages drugs.

“The movie is giving a wrong message to the people. In this film, a girl becomes pregnant as a result of ragging. By watching this movie, there is a possibility that doctors working in hospitals may also start treating patients after consuming alcohol. Arjun Reddy is written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and produced by Pranay Vanga for Bhadrakali Pictures. The film tells the story of a young and brilliant medico Arjun, dealing with anger management issues.
