Arunraja Kamaraj: “My Script Will Essay The Struggles Of Women Cricketers”

Playback singer and lyricist, Arunraja Kamaraj, who is popular for ‘Neruppu’ song from Kabali, has ventured into direction now. He will be directing an emotional drama on women’s cricket.

Kamaraj tells Silverscreen,  “I have done a lot of research on this subject. I have observed that while 1,000 boys attend cricket division selection matches, only 60 girls come forward for the women’s cricket division matches. My script will throw light on the struggles of one such courageous woman. Though it is a sports-based film, it is an emotional drama of a father and a daughter, who aspires to become a cricketer. Many aspiring women cricketers I met told me that despite knowing that there is no bright future in this game for them, they play because they are very passionate about it. It is their passion for the game that drives them. Their passion will be the lifeline of my story. ”
