Magamuni, starring Arya and Mahima Nambiar, wrapped up shooting. Announcing the news on social media, Arya hoped that he had done justice to his character.

Speaking to Silverscreen, the official spokesperson for the movie said “The movie has wrapped up shooting and the post-production works are currently on. Further information regarding the release date and other details will be revealed only after a while.”
Magamuni, produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green, is directed by Santhakumar of Mounaguru fame. The movie reportedly has Arya playing a politician’s son. He is also believed to be playing a similar role in KV Anand’s Kappaan in which Mohanlal plays the Prime Minister.
While featuring Indhuja as second female lead Magamuni has Junior Balaiyya, Jayaprakash, Arul Doss, GM Sundar, and Kaali Venkat playing supporting roles in the film. The movie has been shot around Chennai, Kancheepuram and Erode.

SS Thaman, who had composed the music for Santhakumar’s debut venture has been hired as the music composer on the project. Arun Padmanabhan is the editor on the movie. National Award winner VJ Sabu is in charge of editing while Muthulingam has written the lyrics. Action Prakash will choreograph the stunt sequences.
Santhakumar’s debut, Mounaguru, was a sleeper hit that received favourable reviews upon its release in 2011. Starring Arulnithi, Iniya, John Vijay and Uma Riyaz, the films follows the life of a college student (Arulnithi), and chronicles an accident that happens on a highway. Uma Riyaz Khan plays an honest police officer to John Vijay’s corrupt one.
Arya was last seen in Ghajinikanth that was incidentally produced by Studio Green. Apart from Kaappaan that he recently finished shooting for, Arya also has Santhana Devan and Teddy in the pipeline. Teddy, yet again produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, is directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan and marks the third collaboration between Arya and Sayyeshaa.
