Vishal, who has played cops with different characters in his previous films, is seen as a corrupt cop in his upcoming Ayogya, directed by Venkat Mohan, a former assistant of AR Murugadoss. The teaser of the film released on Wednesday.
The one minute video begins with the voice over of Vishal saying that all the crime in the country is witnessed by Mahatma Gandhi, and a cop is shown saluting a photograph of Gandhi kept at a police station. Parthiepan plays the antagonist who is looking out for people whose discipline and attitude is worse than his.
Vishal, with the name Karna in the film, is the opposite of his name. He is seen in casual clothes throughout the teaser, and is addicted to money, in the same way that some people are addicted to women and power, he says. Sonia Agarwal is someone in power, and is looking tensed as she is questioned by the media. The teaser is pack with punches and vigorous stunts on the whole.
Jointly produced by Vishal Film Factory and Tagore Madhu, Ayogya is Vishal’s 26th film as an actor. Raashi Khanna plays the female lead in the film. R Parthiepan, KS Ravikumar, Sachu, Vamsi and Pooja play other roles. Sam CS is the music composer, R Karthik is the DOP, and Ruben is the editor.
The film’s original version in Telugu, Temper, released in 2015. It was an action film written by Vakkantham Vamsi and directed by Puri Jagannadh with Junior NTR and Kajal Aggarwal playing lead roles. The film is said to revolve around a heinous rape and how it changes a corrupt police officer. It may be noted that Temper was recently remade in Hindi as Simmba starring Ranveer Singh in the lead and the film has turned out to be a blockbuster.
