According to a TOI report, pictures of a beard-sporting Santhanam depict his new look for his next film with Ram Bala, a horror film. Ram Bala has previously directed the Vijay TV serial Lollu Sabha. Santhanam rose to prominence with the series, which made short spoofs of popular films.

Santhanam’s next release is expected to be the much-delayed comedy Valiba Raja, which features the trio of Santhanam, Sethu, and Vishakha Singh from Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya (KLTA). He will also be seen in Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum, Nambiar, and Idhu Namma Aalu.
The actor, who feels its easier to be a hero than a comedian, is no stranger to the weird and outlandish, having acted in drag, among other costumes, during his stint making fun of mass heroes. On the subject of joining their ranks, he had said he saw himself as an entertainer and not a hero.
